We only stayed one night in Salzburg, and spent the evening wandering the old town. In the morning we were awoken very early by church bells ringing continuously... we had found last minute accommodation at the Institute of St Sebastian... but we failed to click that the (really nice) accommodation was attached to a church which had a big bell tower attached that began tolling at 7am sharp. If the bells had been rung in some kind of tune or rhythm then it might not have been so bad, however it appeared they were just rung randomly every 15 minutes for at least 5 minutes straight... not a great way to start the day!
We eventually gave in, got up and set about exploring further in to the old town, checking out some view points and getting in a bit of shopping before making tracks for Cesky Krumlov.
